What exactly is JavaVino? JavaVino breaks down very simply as Java "coffee" and Vino "wine".
We're a coffee and wine house, located in the Poncey-Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta, GA. We offer a plethora of coffees and wines from around the world. Our favorites are Latin American, mostly because that's where our background is. Latin America also offers great "finds". Our house coffee, Selva Negra Estate Coffee, comes from Nicaragua and is produced by the family of one of JavaVino owners. It's incredible, you sincerely get the seed-to-cup experience at JavaVino. The Kuhl Family picks the coffee beans, exports it, imports it, roasts it and brews it right here for you at JavaVino!
We offer light food, including home-made soups, sandwiches, breakfast pastries and a selection of appetizers and delectable desserts. To complement your wine we offer incredible artisan cheese plates. Just check with AJC's Access Atlanta, they say so! This specific article in Access Atlanta covered us during our grand opening week. Our desserts are all selected by ourselves and our sweet-tooth-loving staff. You of course need a kick-ass chocolate dessert to complement a hearty red wine. So be sure to try the chocolate cobbler, it's dangerously good.
To compliment your coffee we have egg & cheese sandwiches, biscottis and a bunch of breakfast pasty goodies. We brew fresh coffee each day, changing it up. If you find a favorite and must have it, try a French Press, you pick whatever freshly roasted coffee we have! Did we mention we roast all our coffee in-house? Well we do! We micro-roast coffee every few days, so you are guaranteed fresh coffee! Our roast-on dates confirm the date the coffee was roasted! So stop by and visit us today!
- We offer excellent coffee, wines and food for a very reasonable price. We are conveniently located in the Poncey Highlands neighborhood, just north of Freedom Parkway at 579 N Highland Avenue, Atlanta, GA - across the street from Manuel's Tavern. For directions see our location link. - Our approach to business is simple and honest. We want to educate our customers on coffee and the impacts it has on this world's environmental and social conditions. We want you to have a very clear understanding of how your coffee drinking habits affect our environment. Areas like air quality, water supplies for cities, and education in less fortunate countries.
- Our wine list offers 100 plus wines, where we are sure to match you up with a wine that suits your palette. We host wine tastings bi-monthly on Sunday afternoons and also have wine specials often. Visit our monthly calendar to see what events we're hosting this month.
Our goal is to provide a whole lot more, for less. Our establishment features two levels of drinking entertainment.
- The main level contains the main coffee bar, wine bar and the retail section.
- The basement offers a cozy wine cellar for evening gatherings.
We offer coffee that meets growing and productions criteria that will make you a proud coffee drinker and wine served the way it was meant to be served, in a large glass fit for a king.
Now you have a place to go where you can you drink some of the best coffees in the world and meet the folks that grow the coffee! That's right, our house coffee, Selva Negra, is actually grown by one of the owner's (Heddy Kuhl) parents in the Matagalpa mountain region of Nicaragua.
